Jwaneng Galaxy head coach, Ramoreboli, who won the tournament in 2021 standing in for Helman Mkhalele, has been recalled to lead the team and says their preparations are running smoothly after playing a practice game against North West University before heading to Durban.
"We played a practice match in Pretoria against North West University before departure to Durban and it was a really good match," Ramoreboli told SAFA's official website.
"Yes, we wanted to activate and prepare for the tournament, which I think helped with this practice match and gave us what we wanted.
"We arrived in Durban on Sunday (2 July 2023) and we already had our analysis, and we had our first training session today (on Monday)," he said.
Ramoreboli also confirmed that all the players that were called up are in the camp and stated that they will take the tournament seriously.
"Every player we requested is in camp. Honestly speaking these are the kind of tournaments that play an important role in the rankings of Bafana Bafana and we should try our level best to win and compete, and I think it is the right opportunity for us to perform well and get positive results," he added.
Namibia meanwhile, have retained 13 players from the side that reached the final last year and narrowly lost 1-0 to Zambia in extra-time.
The Brave Warriors head coach Collins Benjamin is in his third COSAFA tournament and says they "want to go as far as possible".
Only the group winners will automatically advance to the semi-finals and the second best placed team from the three groups will also earn a spot in the last four.
Group B consists of defending champions Zambia, as well as Malawi, Seychelles and Comoros while in Group C there are Mozambique, Angola, Mauritius and Lesotho.
