Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting out with FIFA we've collected some easy, but effective tips to take your FIFA game to the next level. Manage to master even one of these tips and we promise you'll be banging home goals in no time.
#1 – Make low crosses your friend
Professional FIFA players seem to agree that for some reason low crosses appear to be far more successful than traditional crosses in FIFA 20 apparently because headers seem to be less effective in FIFA 20 compared to previous editions. Most new players won't know this so use it to your advantage. If you have a winger that is one-on-one with a defend try using a low cross instead of a traditional one and watch the goals rack up.

#2 – Cool it with the sprints
We all know it feels great to be able to outgas a defender and simply sprint past him when you have the ball. However, it has become extremely easy to lose the ball when sprinting. Instead, look to pass the ball around to buy time and create space. Save those sprints for when you are one-on-one with the keeper.
#3 – Possession is king
Linked to the previous tip, one of the biggest changes to FIFA 20 has been that outright pace has become less important and distribution has become key. With this in mind, one needs to consider this when not only playing the game but selecting a team and which formations to use. In the past one could simply have two wingers with 90+ speed to fly down the touchline and provide nearly limitless crosses into the box. Nowadays you will see far more of an advantage by holding possession and finding gaps through accurate and quick passing. Not only will you be in control of the game, but you will frustrate your opponent into pressing with their defence which will create even more scoring opportunities.

#4 – Get that finish timing right
For those who played FIFA 19, you will probably remember how "timed finishes" were introduced much to the joy or frustration of older players who had been used to previous systems. Getting the timing right on your finishes can mean you can score goals from miles outside the box which in the past would've been hopeless attempts. The only thing is, you have to become a master of timing and the only way to do this is practice. So, clock in the hours on the training pitch and we promise you'll be netting some absolute screamers when you face your friends next time.
#5 – Become a strafe dribbling master
One of the newest features added to FIFA 20 has been the strafe dribbling mechanic and it's crazy how few players know how to use it properly. The new mechanic has made it much easier to move around defenders so become a master at it and you will be cracking open defences like eggs.
#6 – Get creative with free-kicks
FIFA 20 has added loads of options when it comes to taking free-kicks, but you will need to spend a bit of time to train up. You could try the knuckleball or perhaps try adding curve or dipping the ball. Each takes a bit of practice to get used to it and don't get frustrated if you don't get it right the first time. We promise though, time spent mastering free kicks is definitely time well spent. If you can master the free-kick options in FIFA 20 you'll be netting in so many astonishing goals, your opponents will think you are cheating.
