Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) have snapped up another Serie A side ahead of competitors, EA SPORTS FIFA.
PES and FIFA have been in the centre of a war for exclusive rights in recent seasons, with PES having secured Italian champions, Juventus, last season.
EA responded by tying up both AC and Inter Milan following the end of their contracts with PES, but Konami have responded by tying up AS Roma on an exclusive basis.
This is all part of the intricate battle for dominance in football simulation, with many fans wanting the most authentic experience with their clubs.
EA FIFA still dominate in terms of rights with major European leagues and clubs, but PES have been making some significant strides with recent editions.
Announcing the partnership with AS Roma, they said, "The new home of I Giallorossi! We are super excited to announce our new official EXCLUSIVE partnership with #ASRoma for #eFootballPES2021! #WhenInRome"
PES 2021 Season Update will land on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on 15 September, while physical copies of the game will also be available.
