SuperSport United have turned to a familiar face to help turn their fortunes around for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Insiders have informed this publication that the club has made the decision to bring back former stalwart Onismor Bhasera to assist the technical team following the departure of head coach Gavin Hunt last week.
Hunt's exit came after a string of disappointing results, which left SuperSport struggling in the league.
The club now finds itself in second-last place on the log standings with only five wins from 21 matches. With just nine games remaining in the season, SuperSport will be hoping that the fresh input from Bhasera and the interim technical team can help them avoid relegation and finish the campaign strongly.
The interim technical setup will be led by Andre Arendse and Grant Johnson, who have been appointed to see out the season. In addition to Arendse and Johnson, sources have confirmed that Bhasera, who spent eight successful years at the club as a player, has returned to lend his expertise.
Since hanging up his boots in 2024, Bhasera has been focused on his coaching career, obtaining his coaching badges and running coaching clinics.
His experience at SuperSport, combined with his recent coaching pursuits, make him a valuable addition to the technical team during this critical phase of the season.
SuperSport United have since confirmed the appointment of Bhasera on their social media accounts.
