As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, the Buccaneers were interested in Young Africans midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki during the winter transfer window, but the move could not happen as the Burkinabe signed a new contract with his Tanzanian side.

However, now sources close to the club and the player have indicated that the Houghton-based side is believed to have reignited their interest in Aziz Ki. The insiders added that Pirates are looking at loaning out players in January and bringing in Aziz Ki is part of that process.
"There are people who are working on that and they have identified Aziz Ki as a player still worth looking at and that's why they have reignited his interest again. They are looking at boosting the squad but it's believed that it will come at the cost of losing other players in January. The club is looking at loaning out a few players to open up space for new incomings and Aziz Ki is on that list of the wanted targets for January," the Siya source stated.

A second insider stated that the advantage for Pirates is that they only have two foreign players in the squad: Angolan (Miguel Vieira) Gilberto and Nigeria international Olisa Ndah, while Namibian-born Deon Hotto is registered as a local player.
"They won't struggle for the foreign quota and that gives them the edge to sign Aziz Ki if they agree terms with Yanga but for now they are inquiring and are monitoring the player and they will make the final decision towards December and early January. But interest has been revisited by Pirates," the second Siya source stated.
Pirates prepare for the January transfer window, as the renewed interest in Aziz Ki highlights their intent to strengthen their squad. With the potential to loan out players and the advantage of a manageable foreign quota, fans will be eager to see if the Buccaneers can finally secure the signing of the talented star.
