Orlando Pirates are expected to make a decision on the future of Fortune Makaringe, and according to sources, that is likely to take place at the end of the season.
The midfielder has had a difficult campaign due to lack of regular game-time under coach Jose Riveiro. The 29-year-old has made just 15 appearances in all competitions, and just two starts to his name so far in 2022/23.
He had a lengthy spell on the sidelines before he was brought back to the matchday squads in March, although his contribution has been a few minutes towards the end of matches.
Having joined the Buccaneers on a four-year contract in 2019 from Maritzburg United, the player will see his deal with the club expire at the end of June.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, the Soweto giants had yet to table a new deal for the star. Indications from sources close to the Houghton-based outfit are that they will wait until the end of the season to decide on the player's future.
According to sources, all contract decisions at Pirates will be made at the end of the season by the club, and as things stand, all the players who have been getting a run have equal chance to impress the Spanish coach in remaining matches of what has been a long season.
