Now, according to sources close to the club, Pirates are believed to be open to selling Gilberto once his loan deal ends in Angola.
The insiders added how the club plans to bring in new wingers in the off-season and will welcome offers for Gilberto.
"Since the club is working on bringing in other wingers in the off-season it's believed that they are apparently willing to sell Gilberto to any team interested in him. The club thinks that he took time to adjust to the team and that could have affected his performance at the club but they know he is a good player. However, they are willing to sell him to give him the chance to play more regularly as he is an important part of the Angola national team," the Siya source stated.
A second insider discussed Petro de Luanda's interest in retaining Gilberto after the loan period.

"They know him better. They use him better and they are also interested in keeping him when the loan expires in June. But they have to buy him back because he still has two years remaining on his contract. They are believed to have shown an intention to buy him back," the second Siya source stated.
Gilberto, 24, did feature for Pirates in a few games, and it remains to be seen if he prefers to prove himself in South Africa or to sign for Petro.
Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
