Orlando Pirates are believed to be securing one of their defenders with a new four-year contract, the Siya crew has been informed.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Pirates were in negotiations with KwaZulu-Natal born defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi for a long-term deal.

Now, insiders close to both the player and Bucs have indicated that Mbokazi is close to signing a contract, extending his stay at the club until June 2029.
"For now the deal and the new contract is as good as done. The talks have been going on since he was recommended to start training with the first team in August last year before he went with the Under-20 national team to the COSAFA Cup in Mozambique which (his team) South Africa won. Yes, its' a four-year contract which will run until June 2029," the Siya source stated.
A second insider stated that the 19-year-old would hypothetically still have the opportunity to play for the DDC team if necessary, should he be out of the senior team at any point.

"He is going to be playing with a senior team contract but he is still eligible to play for the DDC side if they need him. Both Rele Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota have done that before and it's mainly to keep the player fit and have more game time. But the four-year contract is for the senior team," the second insider revealed.
Mbokazi has so far played a few senior team games already, amazingly earning a Man of the Match award against defending PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates to comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
