After appointing coach Nasreddine Nabi at the beginning of the season, Kaizer Chiefs were hopeful of significantly improving their performances but the club has not kicked on as well as they would have hoped.
Amakhosi suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss away to Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday, after a 0-0 draw at home against Cape Town City. Their only shining light is their recent progress to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
Insiders close to the club have indicated that management is patient and committed to allowing the coach to see his three-year contract through.

The Siya sources added that the club does not want to disrupt the progress that the coach has initiated, progress which may not just be measured by league position.
"You have to remember that the coach signed a three-year contract and management believe that if he can be here for the whole three seasons then he will change things. It's true there are times when part of management don't feel happy with the results and feel like the coach is skating on thin ice and at times they agree to disagree and make things work for the team and they are looking at the positives that the coach has brought to the team which were not there in the past. So, yes, the coach will be given until the end of his contract to change the team's fortunes," the insider told the Siya crew.
A second insider stated that because the team believes in the coach, they are committed to providing him with the players he needs to strengthen the squad and compete effectively.

"There is a good understanding between the coach and management on which players they should bring in to improve the squad and they are supporting him in that because they believe in him and they can't cut the process halfway and that's the reason they want to see him finish the three years that he has signed with the team," the second source revealed.
Under Nabi, the club has played 22 Premiership games, currently sitting 8th on the log with 29 points, winning eight games, drawing five, and losing nine.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Chiefs for an official comment on Nabi's future, but there was no response at the time of publishing.
