The wait is almost over for Kaizer Chiefs and the multitudes of the club's supporters as the team is set for its first match of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season this weekend, and sources have hinted on what could be expected regarding Amakhosi's technical team.
Following the setback suffered by the Soweto giants after Frenchman Fernando Da Cruz, who was one of Nasreddine Nabi's assistants in Chiefs' technical team, left to take up a role in the Moroccan Football Federation, the club appears to have not made a decision about replacing him yet.

Recent reports suggested that the club's former coach Arthur Zwane could be considered for the position of assisting Nabi, but those rumours were dismissed by the club's hierarchy in a recent interview with Marawa Sports Worldwide.
Zwane is set to continue in his role as senior academy coach at Chiefs, while Nabi is expected to begin the season with Khalil Ben Youssef as his only assistant, with Ilyes Mzoughi in his role as the goalkeeper coach and Safi Majdi continuing as the strength and conditioning coach, according to sources.
As indicated by sources, Nabi could remain open to the idea of bringing in another assistant should there be a need to do so during the season though that coach is unlikely to be a South African.

"For now, the club is likely to begin the season with things as they are, as far as the technical team is concerned. Depending on how the season goes and the plans of the coach, the technical team could be strengthened later on. It will be a matter of the coach finding a suitable person to work with as he is someone who prefers to work with his trusted backroom staff. If a suitable candidate is found, he will likely be from abroad," said the source.
Chiefs visit Marumo Gallants at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein for their opening match on Saturday.
