This is despite the fact that he has taken his game to the next level - and even had a position switch from a familiar left-winger position in Denmark.
In recent times, Links has stated that he is disappointed by the fact that he is constantly overlooked by Bafana Bafana - but he has done more of the talking on the field as he recently secured back-to-back Danish Superliga Team of The Week appearances.
With 12 appearances to his name this season, Links has managed an impressive three assists and two goals in this time.
Just last week, Links came off the bench and scored a crucial extra time goal to give AGF Aarhus a 3-2 victory against Skive in the quarter-finals of the Danish Cup.
