In what has been a good month for South African football in terms of transfers, another talent from Mzansi has secured a move - this time to the Spanish top-flight…
The Siya crew reported recently that Banyana Banyana star, Jermaine Seoposenwe, had attracted interest from the Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino in Spain after a string of good performances for Gintra Universitetas in Lithuania, and now it's been confirmed that she's joined Real Betis Balompié.
Seoposenwe, 26, enjoyed a fine 2019 as she made her debuts in both the FIFA Women's World Cup and the UEFA Women's Champions League, and she'll now be hoping to boost her reputation further now that she's got the chance to go up against some of the best teams in the world.
On the back of her Banyana teammate, Thembi Kgatlana, joining Portuguese giants, SL Benfica, Seoposenwe will be delighted to have become the latest South African to make a big move in Europe, though it remains to be seen when she will get the chance to make her debut.
Betis have games against the likes of Valencia and Atletico Madrid on the horizon as they seek to climb up the table in the second half of the season and progress in the cup, and Banyana's tricky attacker will be eager to try and play her role in helping them do so.
The former Samford University player is thought to have signed a deal until the end of the season in Spain with an option to renew.
