The Siya crew has been led to believe that Danish top-flight outfit AGF Aarhus are lining up a new deal for Bafana Bafana international midfielder Gift Links. Links joined the side from Cape Town City back in 2019 in a deal believed to be worth R16 million at the time, having been a standout player for the Citizens.
In his four years abroad, he has proven to be a key component of the Scandinavian team's plans and was instrumental to them qualifying for the UEFA Conference League, having finished third in the Danish Superliga. In the season gone by, the tricky winger featured in an altered role as a left wingback role where he excelled, making 32 appearances in all competitions.
Now, the latest news reaching this publication is that AGF are preparing a new contract for the 24-year-old. Links' current deal has entered its final year, and is set to expire in June 2024, but Soccer Laduma understands that the club is keen to hold onto the Rustenburg-born star beyond its expiry.
As such, according to Siya sources, a new three-year deal is being discussed for Links, with the club having formally approached the player's camp. Negotiations are expected to be concluded in the coming days with the player set to experience his first taste of playing in UEFA competitions next season.
