Orlando Pirates appear to be in a race against time on leading striker Evidence Makgopa ahead of the next match.
The Buccaneers are scheduled to take on second tier outfit Hungry Lions in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 fixture on Saturday as coach Jose Riveiro and the team have sights on defending the trophy after winning it last season.

In the most recent match – the Soweto Derby this past weekend – Makgopa was a notable absentee from Bucs' line-up after he picked an injury against Polokwane City at the beginning of the month.
The 23-year-old also missed last Wednesday's match against Cape Town Spurs leading up to the clash against Kaizer Chiefs.

With Bucs preparing for the next fixture, Makgopa could be set for late fitness test to determine his readiness, having also missed out on a Bafana Bafana call up for the upcoming international friendly matches against Andorra and Algeria.
"It is not a serious injury but he won't be rushed. The good thing is that there is a FIFA break coming up and that will also give him enough time to recover fully," said the source.
