Orlando Pirates are expected to further strengthen the squad with top players, with a captain from one of the DStv Premiership outfits being their latest target.
Last Thursday, the Buccaneers announced the signing of Ndumiso Mabena who has been a free agent since parting ways with Royal AM during pre-season, as well as Craig Martin who joined from Cape Town City.

With the Soweto giants also linked with Cameroonian striker Souaibou Marou from Coton Sport FC, sources have confirmed to the Siya crew that the club is keen on Makhehlene Makhaula to add to coach Jose Riveiro's midfield for next season.
"Pirates is monitoring the situation with Makhehleni Makhaula at AmaZulu and there is interest in the player's services. Expect Pirates to make a move for the player's services although AmaZulu are interested in extending his deal as he has been an influential player and the team's captain," said the source.

Makhaula's contract with Usuthu will expire in June and will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with any team of his choice once he enters the last six months of the deal in January.
While the player might have turned 33, Pirates have showed in recent times that age is not always an issue for them when it comes to their targets as Mabena (35) and Erasmus (32) among the stars who have been signed despite being on the other side of 30.
