Orlando Pirates supporters have been eagerly seeking clarity on the prolonged absence of their star winger, Monnapule Saleng, with a new update now revealed.
The 26-year-old last appeared for the Buccaneers in December 2024, during a brief stint against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League.

Since then, his notable absence from matchday squads has fuelled widespread speculation and concern among fans.
Head coach Jose Riveiro has remained coy on the matter, consistently deflecting inquiries regarding Saleng's status.
In a recent press conference, Riveiro stated, "I don't speak about the health of my players, it's something that belongs to a private space."
The coach further emphasised that any official communication would be publicised through the club's channels, underscoring that such disclosures are beyond his line of duty.
Amid the club's silence, renowned sports journalist Robert Marawa has intervened, issuing an ultimatum to the Soweto giants.
Marawa declared, taking to his official X account, "We have the story but [are] giving the Club their 48 hours to address their fans on the matter. Otherwise, we will."
Marawa's declaration intensified the spotlight on the club, amplifying calls for transparency regarding the player's situation.
Insiders suggest that Saleng's absence may stem from unresolved personal issues, while other reports hint at a potential contractual dispute between the player and the club.
Despite these rumours, no official statements have been released by either party, leaving supporters in a state of uncertainty.
Saleng's impact on the field has been undeniable.

In the current season, he has made 13 appearances across all competitions, netting five goals and providing one assist.
His dynamic presence and offensive prowess have been instrumental in the team's performances, making his absence more puzzling for the fans.
Marawa has since provided this following update:
?? Chap is unhappy with treatment and contractual undertakings that are not met. There's been a serious push-back and no end in sight. It's an ongoing story with many levels and very personal issues that need to be addressed. ??
