The visitors put pressure on Swallows in the early exchanges as Dean Furman found Jeremy Brockie in the sixth minute, but the striker's volleys went over the intended target. At the other end of the pitch Ronwen Williams was called upon to keep the scores tied at 0-0 as he made an excellent double save to deny Sitayitayi the opening goal. The Dube Birds tried their luck from range 10 minutes before the interval when Mulenga opted to unleash a shot, but his effort went wide of Williams' post. The breakthrough arrived shortly after the break as Brockie made ammends for his earlier miss, producing a good finish from Dove Wome's assist. Brockie sent another attempt at goal a few minutes after opening the scoring but his long-range effort went wide of Swallows' goal.
