Growing up the violent and gang-ridden community of Mannenburg, the 23-year-old spoke about his challenging childhood, with his mother raising 10 children on her own.
Being a natural athlete, Williams excelled in athletics but he saw football as the only viable way out to achieve something better and support his family.
