Later that evening, fans at Orlando Stadium were treated to a host of goals as Orlando Pirates thrashed Sekhukhune United 5-0 to seal their spot in the final four.
The Buccaneers, who are the defending champions, will do battle with Stellenbosch FC in the semi-finals.

The second semi-final will see Kaizer Chiefs take on league champions Sundowns after coming from behind to defeat Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
