Later that evening, fans at Orlando Stadium were treated to a host of goals as Orlando Pirates thrashed Sekhukhune United 5-0 to seal their spot in the final four.
The Buccaneers, who are the defending champions, will do battle with Stellenbosch FC in the semi-finals.
Steve Barker's charges needed an extra-time winner from Andre de Jong to defeat SuperSport United in the final quarter-final at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The second semi-final will see Kaizer Chiefs take on league champions Sundowns after coming from behind to defeat Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The dates and venues for the semi-finals will be announced by the Premier Soccer League in due course.
