Orlando Pirates' sturdy defender, Lucky Lekgwathi, has admitted that the hoards of Buccaneers supporters on Saturday will play a crucial role in spurring the team on.
Bucs will welcome Supersport United in an MTN8 quarter-final fixture at the Orlando Stadium, and Lekgwathi expects a strong presence from the Pirates faithful to drive the team forward.
Speaking to the Orlando Pirates official website, the Orlando Pirates skipper was in high spirits, and urged the supporters of Orlando Pirates to show the same support they exhibited at the Carling Black Label Cup where they overcame rival Kaizer Chiefs via penalties.
"We won the Carling Black Label Cup for the supporters," stated Lekgwathi.
"Even though the Carling Black Lbael Cup was not an official match, we played with a lot of responsibility just to keep our fans happy.
"Now we will play a very important match, probably a match that will set the tone for the remainder of the season; so, I think our fans must come in larger numbers than they did last Saturday.
"We have always struggled to beat SuperSport; now that they will come home, the supporters must pack the stadium.
"If we get the stadium full with the fans encouraging us, we will fight harder," concluded the Star defender.
Orlando Pirates take on Matsatsantsa A Pitori at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening, August 2, with the clash starting at 20:15.
