On Sunday afternoon, Kaizer Chiefs ran rampant on Mpumalanga Black Aces in the MTN 8 quarterfinals, with Mandla Masango bagging a brace in the 4-0 win.
Masango was on the verge of being loaned out, but was then retained by the club and Amakhosi coach, Stuart Baxter, tells the Siya crew that Masango is a good player, and that it's been unfortunate for him in the eight years that he has been at Chiefs that he has failed to command a regular place.
"He is a good player. He can smile and get a pack on the back at training from me and his teammates. He was close of being loaned out and I told him that he has been given the chance and he has to use it.
"I think he came to the party and did his best which in the past he has failed to do. We know he is a good player and now he has raised up his hand and shown that he wants to play for the team and that makes me happy and the player as well," Baxter observed.
