Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Rudolf Seale believes the MTN8 game between Chiefs and Mpumalanga Black Aces could go either way.
Gardner was speaking to the crew ahead of the quarterfinal clash this afternoon and said the fact that Aces have qualified for the cup means they can't be underestimated.
The former Amakhosi left back said AmaZayoni are a very competitive side and also eyeing a win in the cup.
"I don't think this will be an easy game but I believe Chiefs have what it takes to win because they didn't win a trophy last season. Aces have proved critics wrong last season where they didn't operate with big name players and they didn't build their team on spending big money. However, we mustn't count chiefs out after losing last weekend's derby against Orlando Pirates.
"We cannot read much in the pre-season games and we'll see the game today. Chiefs are in a position where they cannot leave anything for last. They fought to grab the league at the last minute last season. They need to grab this one quickly. It's going to be a disaster for Stuart Baxter to finish the season empty handed again. I'm not sure what's happening with Katlego Mphela but we'll see how he turns the corner this time around. On the other hand, we need to give Sphelele Mthembu a chance," said Seale.
The game gets underway at 15:00 and the venue is none other than the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.
