Bidvest Wits captain, Sibusiso Vilakazi, is refusing to rest on his laurels after last season's impressive display, stating that it's all already in the past.
The 24-year-old midfielder walked away with the PSL Footballer of the Year award after a fantastic 2013/14 campaign, sparking interest from a number of clubs in-and-outside of South Africa.
However, with the Clever Boys eager to keep hold of their skipper, it seems that he will remain in Braamfontein for now, even though the player himself does have aspirations of making it overseas in the future.
Ahead of this weekend's MTN8 clash with Bloemfontein Celtic, 'Vila' now says that he's already forgotten about last season's campaign.
He told the media, "It's a cup challenge, and something we need as a team. It's an opportunity for us to start early and get off to a good start.
"It's a new season for me, what happened last season is gone. It's new beginnings and there are new things that I want to achieve, both myself and for the team.
"I want to improve every season, become a better player and hopefully get an opportunity abroad as well. If there are no clubs looking for my signature at the moment then I need to work even harder."
Bidvest Wits host Celtic at Bidvest Stadium at 20h00 on Friday night.
