Kruger Dreaming Of Promotion With New Signing

Kruger Dreaming Of Promotion With New Signing

After securing promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, the Mpumalanga-based Kruger United FC are making strategic moves to ensure their competitiveness by signing an experienced midfielder.

This acquisition of Nkosinathi Ononogbu underscores the club's hopes not just to participate but to make a significant impact in their debut season.

Ononogbu, aged 26, has agreed to a one-year contract with Kruger United, with an option for an additional year, signaling a commitment to both the player and the club's future.

Pontsho Madumo of Cream Sport, the player's representative who also managed Elias Mokwana's transfer to Esperance de Tunis, confirmed the signing as follows.

"Yes, I can confirm to you that Nkosinathi (Ononogbu) has signed for Kruger. He is happy to be with the team for at least one year and then there is another one-year option. As an agency we are happy for the player and also for Kruger United. They are showing that they are not just in the Motsepe Foundation Championship to add numbers. They are serious about fighting for promotion in their first season and we are happy that Nkosinathi is part of that project," Madumo told the Siya crew.

Ononogbu, who has a Nigerian father and a South African mother, brings in a wealth of experience to Kruger. He has previously represented South Africa in the COSAFA Cup tournament and CHAN, while has also played for clubs such as Black Leopards, TTM, and JDR Stars. Known for his versatility, Ononogbu can operate across various midfield positions, adding depth and tactical flexibility to Kruger's squad.

Kruger United, hailing from Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga, earned their promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship this year at the ABC Motsepe National Playoffs held in June in Upington, Northern Cape.

The club's proactive approach in the transfer market, exemplified by the signing of Ononogbu, may be an indication of their determination to excel and progress through the ranks of South African football.
