The race for this year's PSL relegation/promotion will go to the final rounds of fixtures, with the main focus this weekend being on the team that will get automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.
Following their penultimate round of fixtures this past weekend, Cape Town Spurs are in the driving seat to decide their own promotion if they win their last match this Sunday against the University of Pretoria at Athlone Stadium.
Shaun Bartlett's side defeated NB La Masia on Sunday to move to the top of the standings with 56 points.
In second place is Casric Stars after they dropped points in their 1-1 draw with Venda Football Academy and are on 55 points.
After their 2-0 win over Platinum City Rovers, Polokwane City are in third place with 54 points.
Having played for Spurs while the club was still known as Ajax Cape Town, Mkhanyiseli Siwahla is confident in the team's chances of returning to Mzansi's topflight.
The Good
"It will be a good thing for the club to come back because that will also bring back some good memories for some of us who grew up at the club. It is a team that has done a lot for South African football and they deserve to play in the topflight in my opinion. Their comeback will be something big for the country and everyone associated with the club. It will be good for history because some of us have a history with the club and it would have been bad if the club was to disappear just like that. I am someone who is following the club closely and hoping that another Siwahla will come out of the club again in the near future. I appreciate the role that the club played in my career and I am the person that I am today because of them and no one can ever take that from them. I am looking for 10 other Siwahlas to come out of the club soon," said Siwahla.
The Bad
"When the club comes back, I would like to see them doing the same things that they have been doing and avoid making mistakes. What I like about the team the most is how they have been mixing the experienced players and the younger ones . They should continue playing the way they have been playing since the Ajax Cape Town days and things should be fine without changing anything because that has always been their style and are known for mastering it. That's a team that is always known for producing the best players from their development and they should stick with that," added Siwahla.
The Ugly
"Since the days of Ajax, the club has always had mixed races within the group and that isn't just on the field of play but also in the office staff and so on. For example, when it comes to the drivers there have always been black and coloured guys as drivers, as well as the white guys in some instances and I don't think there has been an issue with that over the years. Everything is always handled professionally. All that is needed for a team to work well together is a balance. From coaches, technical team, players and everyone, there should be right balance and everything will be fine for the club," said Siwahla.
We All Make Mistakes
"I would like to see the supporters going out in their numbers to support their team from Cape Town in their last attempt this season to return to the topflight. It will be good for the City of Cape Town to have as many teams as possible in the elite division of South African football. But the most important thing is for the team to first win their on the weekend match to ensure their return to the top division and everything else should follow. Five years without the club in the topflight is too long but we all learn. We all make mistakes and the good thing to do is to learn from our mistakes. We must give credit to the club management for all their efforts in ensuring that the club comes back. They should be commended for the way they handled the whole situation over the years. They have done a good job in keeping the team and the players together during the whole time," concluded Siwahla.
