The source stated that the striker could be 21-year-old Brazilian player Everton Macedo Moraes who is currently plying his trade with Esporte Clube Bahia in his native country.
"Sundowns have their own South American scouts who work directly with the team. They have brought in other players before and now they are looking at bringing in this youngster who is doing very well for his club," the Siya source said.
"They have been monitoring him and they have been sending his videos to the Sundowns technical team including the Technical Director and others to check him.
"They have been impressed and what remains now is for him to come. I can't exactly say when he is coming but they are in contact with his team in Brazil. They will wait before the new season starts and that's when we will all know what is going to happen," the source added.
Having first come through Gremio Novorizontino, Moraes then moved to EC Bahia where he turned out for their U20 side. At the beginning of this year he was promoted to the senior Bahia team.
Sundowns media and communications department were not available for comment at the time of preparing and publishing this article.
