If Mamelodi Sundowns keep up their impressive run of form, Jomo Sono believes they could well win the Premiership title by the halfway mark of the season.
Sundowns are cruising at the top of the league standings with a lead of 10 points, with an impressive record of eight wins in a row since the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

It would take some sort of miracle for them to win the title by the halfway mark, but they can certainly put themselves in a good position to win the league quicker than they did last season, if they carry on winning the way they are at the moment.
Last season, Rulani Mokwena's side wrapped up with the title with seven matches to spare and have a good opportunity to better that feat in this campaign.
"To be honest, they are doing well. This is my own opinion; I think when some teams go on to the pitch to play against Sundowns, they have already told themselves that they are going to lose and that they have this player or that player and they forget that it's 11 against 11. They will carry. I think they might win this league again. Maybe they might win it in the first round. It's too early to be leading teams by a big gap," Sono said after Jomo Cosmos announced a partnership with Jobe Foundation in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Thursday.
What's happened in the past is that teams below Sundowns have also let themselves down by dropping points along the way, giving the Tshwane giants an even bigger advantage in the race to the title.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, two clubs often seen as the ones who should be challenging Sundowns for the title, have been dropping points this season, making things difficult for themselves early in campaign.
