'Chiefs Will Try To Sign The Players Nabi Wants'

'Chiefs Will Try To Sign The Players Nabi Wants'

With Kaizer Chiefs expected to unveil Nasreddine Nabi as their new coach this week, the Tunisian tactician is touted for success in Naturena.

Following numerous attempts to get Chiefs back to where they belong with regards to winning trophies, which all ended without success under the likes of Steve Komphela, Giovanni Solinas, Ernst Middendorp, Gavin Hunt, Stuart Baxter, Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson, Amakhosi have turned to the highly rated Nabi in the hope that he will finally get it right in the upcoming season.

Nabi will be in charge for the last time for Moroccan club AS FAR this evening when they face Raja Athletic Club in the Throne Cup and will soon be expected to board a flight to Johannesburg to officially take over at Amakhosi, with most members of his technical team already there.

Last week, Chiefs confirmed parting way with some players from last season, including Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti and Siyethemba Sithebe, and according to sources, the Soweto giants are expected to announce signings in the coming days some of whom could be Nabi's recommendations.

Chiefs are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Nabi gets all the support he needs to make the club's hierarchy and supporters happy.

"If Nabi fails at Chiefs, it will be because he wants to fail. Nabi brought everybody he feels that can help him to succeed. Football is all about trust, and when you are in the game you need to surround yourself with people that you can trust. Even with players, if he makes recommendations, Kaizer Chiefs will go out to try and get those players because they want him to succeed," said the source.
