After 20 Betway Premiership matches, Kaizer Chiefs are in no better position than they were in last season, which should be a concern for the club.
Amakhosi registered 1-0 victory over rookies Magesi FC at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night, taking the Soweto giants to 28 points, but there's not a lot to smile about at Naturena when comparing the current campaign to the last one.

In the 20 matches they have played under Nabi this term, the Soweto giants are on 28 points. They have registered eight wins, four draws and eight defeats. This should be a big concern for the club, as they have dropped 32 points, which is more than they have collected.
Last season, after 20 matches, Amakhosi also had eight victories, which is equal to what they have right now. At this stage last season, they had lost seven matches, which means they have lost one more match in this campaign after 20 matches.
In total, Chiefs had 29 points after 20 matches last season, so there has been no improvement for the club at this stage of the campaign under Nabi. They are one point less than they were on last season after 20 matches.

It's clear that there has been no improvement on the statistics under Nabi, but they do have an opportunity to still make it a better season. In the final 10 matches last season, the Soweto giants registered just one victory, so they have a chance to improve on this in the current campaign, to ensure they finish in the top eight. Last season, they ended the campaign in 10th place.
With 10 matches to play this season, Amakhosi are just eight points away from the 36 they managed in 2023/24 under the guidance of interim coach Cavin Johnson.
