As interim coach of Kaizer Chiefs, Cavin Johnson has a big job on his hands and will have some key areas to fix to help get Amakhosi on track after another difficult start to the season.
Experienced as he is, Johnson will know that sitting in the Amakhosi hot seat is not quite like any other head coaching job he has had and he will need to hit the ground running to avoid the treatment Molefi Ntseki got from the supporters of the Soweto giants.

Soccer Laduma looks at what the former Al Ahly assistant coach will need to address as Amakhosi start a new life, without Ntseki at the helm.
Who is number one?
Since the start of the season, Amakhosi have had a lot to deal with in the goalkeeping department. While Brandon Petersen has made some good saves for the club, he has equally made some costly mistakes for the club, which have cost them points and, in the case of the MTN8, a cup exit. Itumeleng Khune has at times stepped in, but he has not been able to inspire Amakhosi much. This is a period where Johnson, together with his technical team, will need to address the problems they have in the goalkeeping department to ensure that it will be the least of their worries going forward.
Scoring is a problem
Scoring was a problem for Amakhosi last season and it's been dragged into the current campaign. The addition of Ranga Chivaviro, as well as Jasond Gonzales, has not inspired Amakhosi in any way upfront. Their biggest threat, at times, seems to only be Ashley du Preez and they tend to struggle when he is not available. Johnson needs to address the club's scoring problems and look at how he can get the best out of the strikers who are probably low in confidence at the moment.

Home form
Since the start of the season, Amakhosi have not been convincing at home and this has hurt them dearly. Their Carling Knockout exit was on home soil over the weekend. In the five home league matches they have played this season, Amakhosi have only won twice, which will be a big concern for management.
