The story

Following a three-week trip in Türkiye, Amakhosi and their new coaching staff have rounded off their tour to Türkiye and will resume their pre-season training ahead of the start of the new 2024/25 PSL season.

The senior team's trip to the transcontinental nation not only served as a great opportunity for the players to have their tools sharpened for the new campaign, but it also served as way to strengthen diplomatic ties between South Africa and Türkiye.

The Glamour Boys received a courtesy visit from the South African Ambassador to Türkiye, Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba, while the club's Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, visited the Turkish high commission in South Africa, where she met with Turkish Ambassador, Aysegül Kandas in Pretoria.

"We are happy that the both Ambassadors Letsatsi-Duba and Kandas welcomed us with open arms both in Pretoria and in Türkiye," says Jessica Motaung in a statement shared on Chiefs' website, adding:

"We do hope that to have more collaborations and working together between the two countries in sport and other areas of business, including tourism."

This week, Remzi Gür, the South African Honorary Consul in Istanbul, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Soweto giants for selecting Türkiye as their destination for the pre-season training camp.

In a press released shared by the club, Gür would like for the club to return for future pre-season tours, emphasizing that Chiefs' visit to the country will greatly enhance diplomatic and cultural relations between South Africa and Türkiye.

As stated in Amakhosi's press release about Kemiso and Jessica Motaung's meeting with Gür — Kaizer Chiefs management used their engagements with Turkish officials as an opportunity to promote sports and cultural tourism to Mzansi.

"We're eager to use our travels abroad to market and establish key stakeholder relationships foe South Africa. We look forward to welcoming many fans from Türkiye to our games in South Africa,"  added Jessica Motaung.
