Polokwane City moved to within one point of Mamelodi Sundowns, after they recorded a 2-1 win over the Brazilians on Saturday morning.
William Baloyi opened the scoring for Rise and Shine after 15 minutes with a header from close range.
Siphesihle Nzimande then doubled Polokwane's lead in the 85th minute, before Ntandoyenkosi Ngubane netted a consolation for the Brazilians.

Ajax Cape Town clinched their third straight MDC victory, as they defeated Mpumalanga Black Aces 3-0 at Ikamva on Saturday morning.
Masilake Phohlongo handed the Urban Warriors the lead on the stoke of halftime, before Keegan De Klerk doubled the lead after the hour-mark.
The win was rounded off in the 85th minute when Aces' Clint Fredericks put the ball through his own net.
Bidvest Wits 1-1 Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates needed a late goal from Lehlohonolo Mtshali to clinch a 1-1 draw with Bidvest Wits on Saturday afternoon.
Wits went ahead via Liam Jordan, who slotted home from six-yards out, after his penalty was saved by Felipe Ovono.
However, the Buccaneers rescued a point thanks to a superb long range effort from Mtshali, which sailed into the top corner.
