Pirates Lose Top Spot After Diski Winning Streak Ends

Orlando Pirates 0-2 SuperSport United

Orlando Pirates' five-game winning run in the DStv Diski Challenge came to an end after a 2-0 defeat to SuperSport United on Saturday morning at Rand Stadium.

Matsatsantsa broke the deadlock midway through the first stanza courtesy of Tendamudzimu Matodzi, who headed in a cross by Shandre Campbell.

Pirates had a mountain to climb with 11 minutes to go after they were down to ten men following the red-card of Siyabonga Ndlozi and United capitalized almost immediately after Thabang Mahlangu killed off the game with a tap-in.

SuperSport leapfrogged the Buccaneers in second place on the log with their seventh straight win.

Chippa United 2-3 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs won their fourth game in five matches after edging Chippa United in a five-goal thriller on Saturday morning at Wolfson Stadium.

The win took Chiefs up to fourth on the table, ten points behind third-placed Orlando Pirates, with a game in hand while Chippa remained at the bottom of the table.

Mamelodi Sundowns 0-1 TS Galaxy

Mamelodi Sundowns extended their winless run to three matches after a 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy on Saturday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns were left lying seventh on the table while the Rockets moved only up to tenth.

Cape Town City 1-0 Royal AM

Cape Town City returned to the top of the table after edging Royal AM 1-0 on Sunday morning at Malta Park Sports Ground.

Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout scored the decisive goal for the Citizens, as they went back to the top of the log by one point.

Marumo Gallants 0-4 Golden Arrows

Marumo Gallants won their first game in seven matches after thrashing Marumo Gallants 4-0 on Saturday morning thanks to a brace by Siyanda Mthanti at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Nkosinathi Thwala broke the deadlock for Arrows on the stroke of half-time and Sabelo Duma doubled their lead on the hour-mark.

Mthanti took over from there, as he killed the game for Abafana Bes'thende with 15 minutes to go and got the fourth goal and his brace four minutes later.

Swallows 1-2 Maritzburg United

Maritzburg United ended their three-game losing run after beating Swallows 2-1 on Sunday morning at Dobsonville Stadium.

Ashley Wyngaard and Buthelezi scored the goals for Maritzburg.
