Pirates Drop Points Points In Top-Of-The-Table Affair

Cape Town City 1-1 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates dropped points for the second successive game in the DStv Diski Challenge after they rescued a 1-1 draw against Cape Town City at Malta Park on Sunday morning.

City broke the deadlock towards the end of the first stanza courtesy of Jody Ah Shene but Sonwabo Khumalo levelled matters for Pirates on the hour-mark from the penalty spot.

Marumo Gallants 1-6 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns got over their three-game winless run in emphatic fashion after walloping Marumo Gallants 6-1 on Saturday morning at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Sundowns remained in seventh spot on the table while Gallants were left languishing second-from-bottom.

Kaizer Chiefs P-P Richards Bay

The match between Kaizer Chiefs and Richards Bay was postponed following the passing of senior team player Siphamandla Mtolo.

Chiefs now have two games in hand after one of their matches was also postponed this year due to a water-logged pitch.

SuperSport United 5-2 Chippa United

SuperSport United climbed up to the top of the table after hammering Chippa United 5-2 thanks to a brace by Keenan Bezuidenhout on Sunday morning at TUT Stadium.

Thabang Makhubo gave SuperSport the lead on 18 minutes with a header from a cross by Shandre Campbell and Bezuidenhout doubled their lead towards the end of the first stanza also from a header.

Campbell put Matsatsantsa out of sight early in the second stanza from a diving finish and Bezuidenhout made it 4-0 five minutes later and grabbed his brace, as the hosts were running riot.

Chippa pulled two goals back in quick succession just after the hour-mark but Tendamudzimu Matodzi put the result beyond doubt for SuperSport with seven minutes to go.

Sekhukhune United 1-1 Golden Arrows

Sekhukhune United extended their winless run to four matches after playing to a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows on Sunday morning at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Sozabile Dlamini broke the deadlock for Sekhukhune on 20 minutes but Sabelo Duma levelled matters for Arrows seven minutes later.

AmaZulu 2-1 Swallows

AmaZulu won two games on the bounce after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Swallows on Sunday afternoon at King Zwelithini Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, the Birds broke the deadlock early in the second stanza but Lwandile Ngcobo levelled matters for Usuthu just before the hour-mark with a looping shot from a corner that deceived Swallows goalkeeper.

Sphamandla Zikhali gave the hosts the lead on 66 minutes with a strike from the rebound and that was enough to clinch their second win in a row.
