Kaizer Chiefs extended their unbeaten run to three matches in the DStv Diski Challenge after rescuing a point against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday afternoon at Wits Football Stadium.
Jerome Karelse broke the deadlock for Sundowns shortly before the half-time break with a composed finish in the box from a cross by Siyanda Nyanga.
Amakhosi were rescued by the crossbar from going 2-0 behind ten minutes into the second stanza from a strike by Riandre Vries and Vela Khumalo's charges eventually found their way back into the game three minutes later through Donay Jansen.
The Glamour Boys almost stole all the three points in the last minute but they were denied by the woodwork from a set-piece.

Orlando Pirates climbed up to the top of the table after a resounding 3-0 win over Sekhukhune United on Saturday afternoon at Wits Football Stadium.
Relebohile Ratomo broke the deadlock for Pirates just after the half-hour mark with a curling shot into the top corner after cutting inside the box.
Ratomo went on to double the lead for the Buccaneers in the last eight minutes and completed his brace after a quick reaction in the box and Sonwabo Khumalo put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time.
The Sea Robbers also won their fourth game in a row.
TS Galaxy 0-4 SuperSport United
SuperSport United won their fifth game in a row after drubbing TS Galaxy 4-0 on Saturday morning at Wits Football Stadium.
Keenan Bezuidenhout broke the deadlock for SuperSport just before the half-hour mark and Tendamudzimu Matodzi quickly doubled their lead to give them a two-goal cushion at half-time.
Yandisa Mfolozi put United out of sight early in the second stanza and Thabang Mahlangu rounded off the thrashing with 16 minutes remaining.
Royal AM 1-1 Golden Arrows
Golden Arrows extended their winless run to five matches after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Royal AM in the KwaZulu-Natal derby on Saturday morning at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Bandile Dlamini gave Royal AM an early lead but Sandile Ndlovu got the equalizer for Arrows early in the second stanza.
Swallows 1-0 Chippa United
Swallows won their third game in five matches after a narrow and late 1-0 win over Chippa United on Sunday morning at Wits Football Stadium.
After a goalless first stanza, Jordan Marks eventually snatched what proved to be the winner for Swallows eight minutes before time with a long range strike that was fumbled into the back of the net by goalkeeper Likhaya Velele.
