Royal AM and Mbabane Highlanders FC played to a goalless draw in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie on Sunday afternoon.
The KwaZulu-Natal outfit may be short of continental experience, but there a few players who are no strangers to CAF football, including former Orlando Pirate star Thabo Matlaba.
Highlanders did not have proud home record in the Confederation Cup, having only failed to win their last five clashes in Lobamba.
There was a familiar face in the Highlanders side, as former Black Leopards and Chippa United midfielder Tshwarelo Bereng was named in the hosts' line-up.
Neither side were able to find the breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes, with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit doing well to keep the hosts at bay in the first half.
The second stanza would suffer a similar fate on the day, with the encounter finishing goalless as both sides now have it all to play for the in the second leg next weekend.
With no midweek DStv Premiership distractions, Thwihli Thwahla will have a full week to prepare for the second leg.
