Orlando Pirates' daunting CAF Confederations Cup trip to face Tanzania's Simba SC has been compounded by CAF's decision to allow 60 000 Simba fans into the venue.
Pirates first team coach Mandla Ncikazi said his side was happy to contest the first leg of the quarterfinals away from home, but it appears that he got more than he bargained for.
Simba confirmed that CAF have given them permission to accommodate 60 000 supporters at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium for Sunday's fixture, creating a tricky situation for the Buccaneers.
In addition to the supporters, Simba have also confirmed that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be deployed on the day, although there was confusion surrounding the match venue for Sunday, with an international Quran recitation scheduled to take place on the same day.
However, Simba have assured the masses that the two events will have no bearing on each other.
"On Sunday there will be an international Quran recitation competition until 7pm and later the stadium will be empty, and fans will start to enter so fans, don't, worry everything will be done that day," the club's Information and Communication Manager, Ahmed Ally said.
"The fans should come out in large numbers. We as the leadership have fought to ensure that we are allowed by the CAF to fill the stadium, so these efforts do not discourage us come and fill us and confuse Orlando [Pirates]," he added.
The return leg between the two sides will be played on Sunday 24 April at the Orlando Stadium.
