Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have both confirmed their participation in this year's CCL, while Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits will take part in the CCC.
All four teams have played in the Champions League or Confederation Cup in the past, however only Pirates have managed to claim victory, following that famous win in 1995, while they also reached the final in 2013.
Sundowns made it to the final in 2001 only to be beaten by Egyptian side, Al Ahly, and Wits' only appearance was back in the 2011 CCC when they were beaten by AS Adema of Madagascar in the first round.
Chiefs go into the tournament having failed in both the CCL and CCC last year, and South African football fans will be eager to see at least one PSL outfit try and replicate the Buccaneers' heroics.
