The two clubs had been waiting patiently since qualifying for this phase of the competition in September to have their rivals revealed.
Sundowns, the winners of the 2016 edition, have been drawn in Group B alongside AS Maniema Union, AS FAR and Raja Casablanca

It's coach Jose Riveiro's biggest challenge yet in the Champions League, and Pirates have been pitted against Stade De Abidjan, CR Belouizdad and Al Ahly in group C.
Meanwhile, CAF Confederations Cup debutants Stellenbosch will come up against Lunda Sul, Stade Malien and RS Berkane having been drawn in group B.
