It remains to be seen whether he's ready to make the squad for the 2019 Telkom Knockout final, but Maritzburg United have been handed a big boost ahead of their game with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Phumlani Ntshangase, who has brought in by Eric Tinkler at the start of the season, hasn't played for the Team of Choice since picking up a major injury in September, however he is now back in full training as he looks to try and make his comeback before the year is up.
The 24-year-old looked to be becoming a key component of Tinkler's side after he joined Maritzburg on loan from Bidvest Wits earlier in the year, but his 2019 was sadly cut short by an injury he picked up against Chippa United.
Now though, with the TKO final against Masandawana on the horizon, the club have confirmed that the former SuperSport United man is now back in full training after three months on the sidelines, though it may be that Saturday's showpiece in Durban comes too early for him.
Maritzburg have an almost clean bill of health for the game and have no suspension worries as Tinkler looks to try and win the club their first-ever major trophy, although they do still have Siyanda Xulu out following his injury last month.
