With Real Madrid facing Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup tonight, it will be interesting to see whether or not they can lift their first title after Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo's exits from the club – here is how both teams will line up.
UEFA Super Cup
Teams: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
Date: 15 August 2018
Venue: A. Le Coq Arena, Tallinn, Estonia
Time: 21:00
The crosstown rivals will face each other as UEFA Champions League winners and UEFA Europa League champions, which will ensure that nine of the past 10 Super Cups were claimed by LaLiga teams, including the past five in a row.
Real have won the trophy three times over the past four years (2014, 2016 and 2017) and could become the first side to lift it thrice in a row.
Overall, Los Blancos have won four Super Cups, winning all of their past four finals after losing their first two attempts in 1998 and 2000.
Atletico, meanwhile, still have a 100% record in the UEFA Super Cup, having won it in 2010 and 2012. The Rojiblancos could become the first side to win three finals without losing.
The two teams will be meeting a 10th time in European competitions, with Real having progressed in four two-legged knockout ties as well as the 2014 and 2016 Champions League finals against their rivals.
It will be Real's first competitive game without all-time record scorer Ronaldo and Zidane, who lifted nine trophies in just two and a half years with the club.
