Sergio Ramos Reveals He Contacted Mohamed Salah After UEFA Champions League Final Injury

Thirty minutes into the final, the Real Madrid captain clashed with the Reds winger, who fell awkwardly on his shoulder and dislocated it in the process.

The Egyptian had to be withdrawn as a result, and is currently facing a battle to be fit for his country's 2018 FIFA World Cup opener against Uruguay.

Ramos, meanwhile, was widely criticised for his tackle, and even had to change his phone number after a few of his family members received death threats, according to COPE.

The Spain international has now revealed that he has contacted Salah since he sustained the injury, and suggested the African superstar could perhaps even have continued the game with pain injections.

"I spoke with Salah through messages, he was quite good," he said during a Spain media day when asked whether or not he has apologised to Salah, as quoted by AS.

"He could have played if he got an injection for the second half, I have done it sometimes, but when Ramos does something like this, it sticks a little bit more.

"I don't know if it's because you're at Madrid for so long and win for so long that people look at it a different way."
