Two African nations are being investigated by CAF after they were involved in a heated on-field bust-up following their most recent 2023 Africa Cup of Nations clash.
After Morocco and DR Congo players, as well as members of staff, clashed this past weekend, the continent's football governing body will take a further look at the events and later decide what kind of action, if any, they will take.
In a statement issued on their website in the early hours of Tuesday morning, CAF said:
"The CAF has launched an investigation against Royal Moroccan Football Federation and Congolese Association Football Federation following post-match incidents during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d'Ivoire 2023 fixture between Morocco and Democratic Republic of Congo.
"CAF will not make any further comment on this matter until the investigation is complete."
Morocco manager Walid Regragui was seen in an argument with DR Congo skipper Chancel Mbemba following a post-match handshake, before more players and members of staff also got involved.
The highly-rated coach addressed the incident after the match, admitting he regretted his and his team's actions.
Regragui, 48, also said he has "great respect" for the former Porto centre-back, who was believed to have accused the Atlas Lions' head coach of making discriminatory remarks towards him.
