From 2025, Thomas Tuchel will take charge of the Three Lions. The German tactician succeeds Gareth Southgate, who was in charge of the national team for seven years.
While Tuchel is a successful head coach in his own right, winning trophies in Germany, England and France, it is understood that Guardiola was the Football Association's number one candidate.
However, with no clear indication of whether he would accept the position once his contract at Manchester City expires at the end of the season, they decided to hand the Krumbach native an 18-month deal.
Now, a new nation is understood to be testing the Spaniard's resolve, and that is the five-time FIFA World Cup winners, Brazil.
According to The Athletic, the Catalan manager was annoyed that the Brazilian Football Confederation decided to withdraw their interest in him when he left Barcelona in 2012, but the publication now states that the CBF has returned for his services, calling him several times in 2024 in an effort to try and resuscitate the Selecao.
The same report states that the 54-year-old does still harbour ambitions of coaching a national team but is likely keen on taking charge of one ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
It is understood that the most likely scenario for Guardiola in the immediate future is that he will extend another year at the Etihad Stadium.
