It has been claimed De Tomas will cost Benfica about €25 million (R398 million), which is a significant amount for a player who has represented Real's senior team on only one occasion.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a brilliant debut LaLiga campaign last season, during which he scored 14 times in 33 matches.
