The Blues announced the permanent acquisition of Los Blancos Mateo Kovavic today, who joins the club in a reported €50 million (R805 million) following his loan stint.
The statement read,"Real Madrid CF and Chelsea FC have agreed to the transfer of player Mateo Kovacic.
"The club wants to thank Kovacic for all these years of dedication, professionalism and exemplary behavior, and wishes him good luck in his new stage."Chelsea are able to register Kovacic despite transfer ban because he was already in the club's books due to his loan at Stamford Bridge.
As a consequence, he was already registered by the club in 2018/19 and does not fall under Fifa's ban, which prevents the club from registering new players in the next two windows.
