According to journalist Romain Molina, Mbappe is not keen on returning to the national due the tenson between himself and Deschamps.
Mbappe asked to be excused for the October internationals, which reportedly left Deschamps confused as he was fit and playing for Los Blancos.
The report claims that Mbappe will not return to Clairefontaine, the team's homebase, due to his "fractious" relationship with the head coach.
Deschamps did address Mbappe's omission from the squad, insisting it was just a one-off decision.
"I had several exchanges with him. I thought about it and made this decision about this gathering.
"I think it's better like this. I'm not going to argue. What I can tell you, two things: Kylian wanted to come, and it is not the extra-sporting problems that come into play from the moment the presumption of innocence exists.
"It's a one-off choice for this gathering with the two matches awaiting us."
