The veteran fullback has enjoyed an impressive resurgence since returning to his boyhood club in February, after a difficult spell at Olympiacos in Greece following his Real Madrid departure in 2022.
After his side claimed a 2-0 victory over Marcel Koller's Egyptian giants in Saudi Arabia, the 35-year-old will play in his fifth Club World Cup final on Friday, with his previous four tournament appearances coming for Los Blancos.
Marcelo threw back the years as he proved influential in Fluminense's win, and it was he who won the penalty that led to his team breaking the deadlock in the 71st minute.
The left-back went into a one-vs-one situation against Al Ahly forward Tau, whom he nutmegged in the box before the 29-year-old brought him down with a challenge from behind.

Fluminense winger Jhon Arias converted the penalty, while Tau was substituted by Koller four minutes later. The Brazilian side then added a second goal through John Kennedy in the 90th minute.
