Despite defeat in their 2023 FIFA Club World Cup semi-final on Monday, Percy Tau's Al Ahly have secured R37 million in prize money, and could get even more.

According to The Economic Times, the Egyptian giants will get a handsome $2 million (R37 million) payout for reaching the final four of the Club World Cup.
The team that finishes fourth is guaranteed that amount, while the club that finishes third will be paid $2.5 million (R46.3 million).
Following Al Ahly's semi-final loss to Brazilian side Fluminense, the Red Devils will play for third place on Friday afternoon against the loser of the other semi-final tie between Urawa Red Diamonds and Manchester City.
This means Marcel Koller's Ahly will win a minimum of $2 million for the efforts in Saudi Arabia, but could ultimately walk away from the competition with an extra $500 000 (R9.2 million).
Fluminense, meanwhile, are guaranteed at least $4 million (R74 million), the figure the runner-up at the competition will receive, while the winner will earn $5 million (R92.6 million).
Last season's UEFA Champions League winners City go into Tuesday night's semi-final against Urawa as overwhelming favourites, with the victors of the European tournament having won the Club World Cup every year since 2012.
The last non-European team to claim the title was Corinthians, who beat Chelsea in the final in 2012.
