Percy Tau was on the scoresheet for Al Ahly, who secured the bronze medal at the FIFA Club after defeating Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds 4-2 on Friday evening.
Tau retained his place in the Red Devils line-up, alongside Kahraba and Hussein El Shahat in a front three, as the Egyptian side reached their fourth consecutive third/fourth Club World Cup outing.
Marcel Koller's charges were on the front foot in the opening exchanges and were rewarded for knocking on the door on 19 minutes after Yasser Ibrahim gave them the lead with a shot from a rebound in the box.
Al Ahly kept their foot on the gas as Tau doubled their lead six minutes later after a mistake at the back led to him going through on goal and fired a looping strike into the back of the net.
The Red Devils continued to control the game with prolonged spells of possession, however, Urawa grew in the game towards the end of the first stanza as Jose Kante reduced the deficit with a strike from a rebound in the box.
The Reds had a bright start in the second stanza and were awarded a penalty five minutes in after a handball in the box by Mohamed Hany following a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.
Alexander Scholz levelled matters for the Japanese side with a strike through the centre, past goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy.
However, Al Ahly restored their lead on the hour-mark after Yoshio Koizumi deflected a shot into his own net.
As the game opened up, the Egyptian giants were also awarded a penalty with 16 minutes remaining after Karim Fouad was fouled in the box.
Ali Maaloul, however, could not restore a two-goal cushion for the Red Devils after his spot-kick was saved by shot-stopper Shusaku Nishikawa.
Following nine minutes of added time, Maaloul redeemed himself in the tail end after he sealed the game for the Red Devils with a stunning free-kick that found the top corner.
As a result, Al Ahly have become the first team in the history of the tournament secure the bronze medal for a fourth time.
